THE ESSENTIALS, IN ONE PLACE
Getting started with a Trezor hardware wallet is a straightforward way to take greater control of your digital assets. A hardware wallet stores your private keys offline, so your approvals happen on a device you can see and hold. Your computer or phone can help you manage your wallet, while your keys remain protected by your Trezor.
Begin by visiting Trezor’s official website and downloading Trezor Suite. Always check the web address carefully and avoid links sent in unexpected messages. Connect your device using its cable, then follow the on-screen instructions to install official firmware. If your device is new, you can create a wallet; if you are restoring access, choose recovery and follow the prompts carefully.
During setup, your Trezor may create a recovery seed. This backup is essential: it can restore access if your device is lost or damaged. Write the words down in the correct order on the supplied backup materials, and store them in a private, secure place. Never photograph or upload your seed, enter it into a computer, or share it with anyone. Anyone who obtains it may gain control of your assets.
Use a PIN if your device offers one, and choose a code that is difficult for others to guess. When sending funds, check the address and transaction details on your Trezor’s own screen before approving. A compromised computer can display misleading information, so the device screen is the final source of truth. Start with a small test transaction if you are learning a new process.
Trezor will never ask you to disclose your recovery seed or PIN. Treat urgent messages, giveaway offers, and unsolicited support requests with caution. For trusted instructions, use Trezor Suite and official Trezor Learn resources. Take each step at your own pace, keep your backup private, and you’ll be ready to manage your crypto with more confidence and independence.
